PTO Carry-Over Update!

Paid-Time Off, everyone loves their PTO!

Introducing our “Reduce Max Allowed” option. This option is being introduced in order to alleviate any past rollover issues in your accrual policy, giving you the ability to exclude the carry-over hours from the previous year!

Let us explain. Our “Max Allowed” option in the past worked in a specific way:

● The function would include the employee’s carry-over hours they accrued that year into the same bucket (continuously each year), ultimately affecting the amount of hours the employees can accrue in the following year.

● For example, if an employee is allowed to accrue 56 hours each year and the employee only used 40 hours in the first year, they should be allowed to carry over 16 hours in year 2. What would occur instead would be the employee only being able to accrue an additional 40 hours, and ultimately would be capped at 56.

● Now, employees can accrue an additional 56 hours, since the carried-over hours are not being included in the Max-Allowed bucket mentioned above.

Employees can now receive both their carry-over hours and the number of hours for the new year thanks to this update! (Simply, go into Setup > Policies > Accrual Policies > PTO Rates)
