In order to ensure that our offerings' use of customer data and information systems is protected in accordance with industry standards, Fingercheck is implementing and updating our privacy and security controls.
The older Transport Layer Security (TLS) versions, 1.1 and below, are no longer supported by Fingercheck because they are unsafe and susceptible to attack from outside sources. TLS is a critical security protocol used to protect the confidentiality and integrity of data in transit when information is being exchanged.
As of May 1, 2023, we will only accept TLS 1.2 and more secure cryptographic protocols thanks to an update to our transport layer security controls. This update will establish a safer environment and ensure that data is secure and inaccessible to unauthorized third parties.
There is no action required from clients or end users to implement this change as long as you are utilizing a modern web browser. However, if you’re using an older, unsupported web browser, then you’ll need to upgrade.
In March 2020, the majority of browsers—Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox—took out support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1. To ensure the highest levels of encryption and security for your data, make sure you are accessing Fingercheck products using the most recent, secure web browsers.
